PROCESS: Open Mic Night presents Sumner Brook and Fiona Broadhurt!

Sumner Brook:
Sumner Brook (they/them) is a poet, writer and activist from South East London. Like a reverse youth pastor, they’re here to plant subversive thoughts while you chuckle at their politically flavoured nonsense.
Sumner is a BBC young writer of the year finalist, Roundhouse Slam semi-finalist and winner of the prestigious Process Productions ‘Best Spring Rolls’ prize. They’re a regular at London open mics and have appeared at events including the Totally Thames Festival, Extra Second London, Catford Pride, Fed Up and Life & Rhymes. They think you look very nice today.
Fiona Broadhurst:
Mood killer. Vibe ruiner. Emotional fucker.
Fiona Broadhurst is a queer, trans, disabled, poet who’s too earnest for her own good. She writes poems on various topics not limited to queer-love, anarchy, disability, social justice, community, and emotional shit™, blending intricate rhymes with unexpected metre, all distilled through a unique voice.
She has been published in the Back Room Poetry anthology “Rebel Poetry”, had a poem featured on the Dead Darlings Podcast, & has recently published her first chapbook, Apocalyptic Aphorisms, with Back Room Poetry.
She performs regularly at open mics around London, and has featured at the Incite open mic. She currently curates Where The Word Things Live, a directory of poetry and spoken word nights in London.
She doesn’t like talking about herself in the 3rd person and is a sextuple threat to herself, owing to her six disabilities.
